Linocut workshop @ Gallery 3, Town Hall, Ipswich

Tea and Talks: Drawing from life: Suffolk artists @ High Street Museum, Ipswich
Speaker: Emma RoodhouseIn what is sure to be a very revealing talk, Emma talks about the life drawing studies in the Museums’ collection. With a particular focus on the East Anglian School of Painting and Drawing and Ipswich Art School, this talk highlights how the two differed in their approach to life drawing. Linking with the Colin Moss exhibition in Gallery 3, Emma explores examples of work by Colin Moss, Cedric Morris, Lucian Freud and Maggi Hambling. Please note that the talk will feature nude images from the art collection.

Funky Foamcuts @ Gallery 3, Town Hall, Ipswich
Artist Colin Moss did some of his work by carving pictures into lino and then covering it in paint and using it as a stamp. Come along and try your hand at our child-friendly foam version, taking inspiration from the Ipswich artist himself.Venue: Town Hall Galleries

Pub Art Crawl
Coinciding with the Colin Moss exhibition in Gallery 3 Town, Hall Ipswich , this walk and talk will take in some of the locations in Ipswich from which artists like Colin have drawn inspiration. At each stop, Art Curator Emma Roodhouse will talk a little about Colin Moss and his work. There will then be time for some relaxed discussion before we move on. The walk begins at the docks, in front of Isaacs, at 6pm sharp. The official tour will end at the Arboretum, though there is no limit on how long you remain there after the tour ends.Please note that this event requires a reasonable level of personal fitness, and the museum cannot take responsibility for ill health arising from over-exertion. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that buildings we visit on the tour will be fully-accessible to wheelchair users. However, we will endeavour to use accessible spaces where possible.
